Come November 30, expect it to be a big reception by a great number of Filipino residents of Toronto when the first Philippine Airlines direct flight from Manila touches down at Pearson International Airport’s Terminal 3.
I don’t know how the reception will come out but I’m sure many Filipinos in Toronto will be at the airport if their time will allow them – just to have a glimpse of the Philippines’ legacy carrier.
Most of us Filipino travel agents in the Greater Toronto Area have excitedly offered to customers to book Philippine Airlines as soon as their seats became available on our systems.
We have been eagerly awaiting for a direct flight to the Philippines from Eastern Canada because we knew how much the Filipino community is looking forward to having one, specially the older generation who fly back to the homeland most frequently.
And if our computer reservation system is correct, the Filipino community have welcomed and supported Philippine Airlines warmly by filling seats until at least January 2013.
On November 30, when Philippine Airlines arrive at Terminal 3 of Toronto International Airport, me and my wife will be there to celebrate a historic first in Philippine Airlines’ history. I flew from Edmonton just to be present at the occassion.
And on December 3, Filipino travel agents and airline ticket wholesalers who specializes in the Philippines will gather together in a party thrown by PAL – probably a thank you party for those who support our motherland’s flag carrier. I hope to meet many supporters and bigwigs of PAL.
Watch out for photos and a post on those special days.
