Hi Juliano,

Thanks for the info. That post was originally in 2007 and a lot have changed since. If my friend in the Philippines is correct, the cost of call might be better in the Philippines as of now (2012). He's calling us frequently and was saying that it only cost him only 0.05 cents/minute to call Canada, where we are paying the cheapest rate at 0.11 cents/minute to call the Philippines.

Don't know why that is but what I'm pretty sure in the future, overseas calls anywhere in the world will be rated on a cheap per month basis.

Thanks for dropping by.

Actually, the Philippines already had the GSM Mobile Phone system several years before Canada did. The only advantage that Canada probably has is the higher penetration rate of landlines and most likely the cost per minute of voice calls as well. But technology wise, we were actually ahead at one point. Three or so months ago, Makati City even had the fastest internet speed in the world. The top 10 were mostly dominated by Asian and Eastern European cities and no Canadian cities made it to the list.

@Flip, what's the big deal? I just round them off for quick computation. The difference is just pennies.

[...] See, if I were the airline passenger and they tell me that I’m waitlisted or have no seat, I know how to respond to their seemingly “bad news” because I work in a travel agency and I know how it works.
